Smith & O'Sullivan successfully completed External & Internal decorations - Whitefields Estate Project 6 within budget and on programme for the client Barnet Homes in conjunction with project managers John Pelling & Partners .

The project comprised of external and internal redecoration works to three high rise blocks of occupied flats.

The bulk of the works entailed internal redecorations to the stairwells and landings of the three high rise blocks with Dulux Pyroshield flame retardant paint. In the event of a fire this would help reduce flame spread compared to traditional multi-layer paint systems. The application of this product resulted in the stairwells and landings of the buildings attaining a class 'O' fire rating.

On completion of the application of the fire retardent system an anti-graffiti product was applied.

The customers, were consulted prior to the project commencing in relation to the choice of colour and product manufacturer.

The KPI's (key performance indicators) received back indicated an extremely high level of satisfaction from the customers regarding the works that had taken place, with numerous comments making the point that the decorations had 'transformed the blocks' making them 'brighter', 'safer' (the application of the fire retardent paint sytem) and 'reduced levels of vandalism' (the application of anti graffiti paint system).
